Rochdale Warriors was formed in February 2008, the club atmosphere is relaxed & the venue is second to none, the classes are aimed at providing enjoyable learning with the emphasis on safety. We welcome ALL Karate’ka students from other clubs who want to try Shukokai or just want some extra training.

The Dojo premises have been established for many years as a successful Judo club. It is a standalone building with all the facilities that you’d expect from a full time dedicated Dojo. The training area is fully matted & there are separate changing room & shower facilities for both male & female students.

Why train with the SHUKOKAI KARATE UNION?

Shukokai is a style of Karate that was introduced to England in 1968 by the Japanese instructors Sensei Tani and Sensei Kimura.

It is a fast & powerful style & was the first major Karate style in Britain to use strike pads, this type of training was introduced by Sensei Kimura in the Mid 70’s.

In 1969 the Shukokai Karate Union (SKU) was formed. Since 1969 the number of clubs and members of the SKU has risen dramatically and there are now over 60 clubs spread all over England who train in the SKU method of Karate.

Over the years many champions of National and International level have been trained in our clubs, this is both in Kumite (fighting) & Kata (form).

In addition to the normal club training the SKU run other events for their members, these include courses, squad training's, and competitions for both adults and children.
